Ram Navami is a Hindu festival. The birth anniversary of Lord Shri Ram is celebrated every year on the ninth day of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month. According to Hindu Purana, Lord Shri Ram was born on this day in the middle of the year. For this reason, performing puja rituals at midday is considered very auspicious. Navratri of Chaitra ends on the day of Ram Navami. On this day many Hindu people take bath in the Saryu river in Ayodhya. On this day, Chaitra Ram fair is organized in Ayodhya in which huge crowd is seen every year. After taking bath on the day of Ram Navami, Ramcharit Manas is recited in homes, temples and Puranas are also recited at many places.

Ramayana and Ramcharit Manas are our holy scriptures. Tulsi Das ji has composed Ramcharitmanas considering Shri Ram as God but the original poet Valmiki has considered Shri Ram as a human being in his Ramayana. Tulsidas ji has ended Ramcharitmanas after the coronation of Ram, while the original poet Shri Valmiki has further described the story in his Ramayana till the great death of Shri Ram.
Maharaja Dashrath decided to start a yagya to get a son. As per the orders of the Maharaja, the horse Shyamkarna was released along with the Chaturangini army. Maharaja Dashrath sent an invitation to all the wise, ascetic, learned sages and great scholars having knowledge of Vedas to perform the Yagya. When the appointed time came, Maharaj Dashrath along with all the guests went to the gathering of his Guru Vashishtha ji and his best friend Lobhapad, the ruler of Anga country. Came to the Yagya Mandap with Ring Rishi. In this way the great yagya was formally inaugurated. The entire atmosphere started reciting the verses of the Vedas in loud voice and smelling of the fragrance of Samidha.

Ram Navami 2024 Puja Muhurta
The auspicious time for the worship of Maryada Purushottam Lord Shri Ram will start from 11:02 am on 17th April and will continue till 1:26 am. In this Muhurta, you can start worship after bath and meditation.
Ramnavmi puja method
After waking up in the Brahmamuhurta of Ram Navami and taking bath, offer Arghya to the Sun God from a copper pot. After having darshan of Lord Ram, come home and after decorating the tableau in the home temple for the birth anniversary of Lord Ram, install a Kalash and install Lord Ganesha there. Worship Lord Ganesha, then worship Lord Ramlala and while invoking Ram ji, perform milk anointment of Ramlala. Mix milk and curd and anoint them. After Abhishek, decorate them with various types of flowers, wear clothes, apply tilak on the forehead. After applying Tilak to Lord Ramlala, chant a rosary of Ram-Ram 108 times. Then after this do Aarti, by doing this the puja will be considered completed as per the rituals.
