Chardham Yatra 2024

This year, there is a lot of enthusiasm among the devotees for Chardham Yatra. Lakhs of people from across the country are registering for Chardham Yatra. This year,more than 12 lakh devotees have registered for Chardham Yatra in just one week, breaking last year’s record. Last year, more than 4 lakh pilgrims had registered for Chardham in a week and this time more than 12.48 lakh pilgrims have registered, Registration for Chardham Yatra is still going on and in the coming days, the devotees registering for Chardham can break all the previous records. Anyway, this time there is a possibility of increase in the number of pilgrims for Chardham Yatra.

CHARDHAM ROAD MAP (YAMUNOTRI, GANGOTRI, KEDARNATH AND BADRINATH)

Yamunotri is the place situated at an altitude of 3235 m above sea level in Uttarkashi district from where Yamuna river originates. This is also the abode of Goddess Yamuna. There is a temple of Goddess Yamuna here. It is also a major Hindu pilgrimage and one of the four Chhota Dhams.

Yamunotri is located in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand state of India. It is situated at an altitude of 3283 meters above sea level, about 150 kilometers north of Uttarkashi, 210 kilometers from Rishikesh and 255 kilometers from Haridwar by road.

Gangotri is a nagar panchayat (municipality) in Uttarkashi district in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is 99 km from the main district headquarters Uttarkashi. It is a Hindu pilgrimage town on the banks of the Bhagirathi River – the source of the River Ganges. The city is situated at an altitude of 3,100 meters (10,200 ft) on the Greater Himalayan Range. According to a popular Hindu legend, Goddess Ganga descended here when Shiva freed the mighty river from her locks.

Kedarnath, a popular Hindu temple nestled in the lap of the Garhwal Himalayas, about 221 km from Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, is one of the twelve Jyotirlinga temples of Lord Shiva. Situated at an altitude of 3580 meters, against the backdrop of the majestic Kedarnath temple range, the magnificent Kedarnath Dham is the place where devotees come to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva. It is said that Kedarnath temple was built by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century. The Mandakini river flowing nearby, breathtaking views and spectacular views in the form of snow capped mountains, rhododendron forests and salubrious environment make the Kedarnath Dham Yatra a peaceful one. Badrinath or Badrinarayan Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Vishnu. It is located in the city of Badrinath in Uttarakhand, India. The temple is one of the 108 Divya Desams dedicated to Vishnu – sacred temples to Vaishnavas – who is worshiped as Badrinath. It is open for six months (between late April and early November) every year due to the extreme weather conditions in the Himalayan region.
